The people behind Hush AI.
You clicked through to see who is behind the code before you trust them. Good. That instinct, the small voice asking where do my words actually go, is the whole reason Hush exists.
Who we are
Hush is built by its two co-founders, Dr W.J Carter and Dr A. Ahmed, with a small team improving it every day.
We keep our own whereabouts quiet, for the same reason you came here. We do not keep your data, and we hope you will bear with us as we grow.
We are doctors, not a technology company. When the new AI arrived we reached for it like everyone else, and then we read how it actually worked. Every word you type is kept. A copy lives on a server in another country, owned by one of a handful of American companies, mined to train the next model and available to be handed over the day someone asks with the right paperwork. As a doctor I could not put a single line of a patient into any of them. Not the symptoms, not the fear in the room, nothing. Neither could a solicitor with a client, or an accountant holding someone's whole financial life. The most powerful tool of our lifetime had arrived, and the people who most needed it were the ones forbidden to touch it.
Nobody was going to build the version we could actually use. So we did. That is where Hush started.
The problem
Orwell got the fear right. He got the method wrong. There was never a knock at the door. There was a text box, and it asked how it could help, so the world told it everything: its symptoms, its secrets, the emails it would never send. And it kept every word. Not to help you. To train on you, and to hand you over the day someone with authority asks. Picking a data centre on British soil does not fix it. In June 2025 a Microsoft lawyer told the French Senate, under oath, that he could not guarantee customer data would never be handed to US authorities. That is the whole problem in one sentence. Read what was said.
The solution
So we bought four NVIDIA systems and taught ourselves to run frontier-class models on hardware we can physically touch, not a borrowed American cloud. We are not career software engineers. We worked line by line, read the errors, broke it, fixed it, and did it again. What came out the other side reads what you send, answers, and then forgets you completely. Nothing stored. Nothing trained on. Nothing to leak, sell, or hand over, because nothing is kept at all.
Why now
Three things collided. The technology arrived: frontier-class models stopped needing a Big Tech data centre, and a small company with four NVIDIA systems can now run them privately. The law woke up: in 2026 the Upper Tribunal ruled that putting confidential documents into public AI can waive legal privilege, a year after a Microsoft lawyer told the French Senate, under oath, that he could not guarantee European data stays out of American hands. And the workload broke: most professionals are already pasting sensitive work into unapproved AI, because the alternative is drowning. The window where you can get the help without surrendering the words is open right now. That is what we built for.
What we value
Radical honesty
If a feature does not work yet, you will hear it from us first.
Your data is yours
Never stored on our servers, never trained on, never shared, and yours to delete at any time.
Verify, do not defer
AI is a drafting tool, not a professional adviser.
Small, stable, reachable
No VC. No board. A small team, improving it every day. When you email, we answer.

Hush AI is a drafting and summarisation assistant. Not medical, legal, or financial advice.
