Who we are
Hush is built by its founder, Dr W.J Carter, and improved every day.
Our registered office is public, as it must be: 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG. We do not keep your conversations or documents, and we hope you will bear with us as we grow.
Hush is doctor-built, not a Big Tech company. We watched powerful AI tools arrive that quietly keep a copy of everything you type, on their consumer tiers often to train the next model. As a clinician I could not put a word of patient information into any of them, and neither can a solicitor, an accountant, or an HR lead with their clients' data. We wanted AI we could actually use on confidential work, without handing it to someone else's cloud.
That is where Hush started.
The problem
The capability was never the issue. The issue was where your words go. The moment you type something private into most AI tools, a copy of it lives on a server you will never see, under rules you did not write. In June 2025 a Microsoft lawyer told the French Senate, under oath, that he could not guarantee customer data would never be handed to US authorities. That is the whole problem in one sentence, and it is why choosing a UK data centre alone does not fix it. Read what was said.
The solution
We bought our own NVIDIA and AMD GPU systems and taught ourselves to run capable open-weight language models on hardware we physically control, not a Big Tech API. We are not career software engineers; we worked with AI tools line by line, read the errors, learned the concepts, failed, corrected. The result is an assistant that processes what you send, then forgets it.
